Product Description (Designer Room Darkening Sheer Shades)
The Designer Room Darkening Sheer Shades combine the look of sheer drapery with the functionality of a horizontal blind for excellent light control.
When in the lowered position the shade can be tilted open, allowing you to see through the shade while the sheer fabric blocks 35% of UV light.
When the louver slats are closed the center blackout fabric blocks light from passing through it, providing privacy and room darkening.
When raised, the shade disappears into a sleek, ivory headrail. Available in 2" Fabric Louver Slat sizes.
The Designer Sheer Shade is a woven, single piece, cellular fabric (not to be confused with a cellular shade). Other sheer window shading variations are made of several pieces of fabric using a vane construction. It is important not to confuse the two. The Designer Sheer Shade does not achieve its light control through vanes, rather through a cellular system with walls of varied opacity. There are several key advantages to the single piece cellular construction of this sheer shade: No gluing, so there's never a de-lamination issue which is common in the multi-piece "vane" construction of the other styles of sheer window shadings. The single piece weaving method ensures consistent tension which eliminates waviness and lack of full opening/closure which are common defects of the multi-piece "vane" construction.
